DeFuniak Springs, Florida, September 27, 2010 – The Walton County Economic Development Alliance (WCEDA) today announced the keynote speakers that will be featured at the WCEDA Annual Dinner. Both Rick Marcum, Executive Director of Opportunity Florida and Amy Evancho, President and CEO of the Florida Economic Development will be presenting on economic development issues that are especially relevant to rural communities.
The Florida Economic Development Council, Inc. is a 46 year old association dedicated to professional development and legislative advocacy for economic developers in the state of Florida. Opportunity Florida is an eight county regional economic development alliance, and is focused on strengthening the existing businesses within Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty and Washington counties. Opportunity Florida is committed to providing connectivity, resources, knowledge and leverage to create “opportunities” for our regional businesses and workers.
The Dinner will be held at Bogey’s Bar and Restaurant in DeFuniak Springs on Thursday, October 7th from 6 to 8:00 pm. All TIDE Award winners from the previous year will be recognized, as well as WCEDA Board of Directors members. Tickets are $40.00 per person and $75.00 per couple.
