DeFuniak Springs, Florida, August 9, 2010 – The Walton County Economic Development Alliance (the WCEDA) today announced Mr. Shelton Stone, Co-Founder and President of Energy Farm, will be the featured presenter at the Quarterly Roundtable scheduled for August 26th. The event is being held at the Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club from 7:30 am – 9:00 am. The cost to attend is $15 per person and includes breakfast. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the WCEDA office at 850.892.4859 by Friday, August 20th.
Stone will be giving a presentation that will include Energy Farm’s plans for a 550 acre solar energy plant with the capacity of producing 74 megawatts of energy and power 12,000 homes, in Walton County. Stone will also speak about the tremendous economic opportunities presented by the project through the attraction of support industries and businesses to the area that will serve the plant. Fascinating technologies and innovations in the field, and what they will mean for the future of our county, region, and nation, will also be discussed.
In addition to the presentation by Mr. Stone the WCEDA will announce its next round of TIDE, which stands for Thanks For Investing and Developing in Walton County, Award recipients. The program is designed to recognize businesses and organizations in Walton County that have made investments and created or retained jobs. Applications are available by contacting the WCEDA office and will be accepted through August 16, 2010.
