Transportation
If your business requires transporting goods or people, Walton County is an ideal location. Transportation choices range from interstate and U.S. highways, to airports and a Class-1 National Railroad and to inter-coastal waterways and deep water ports.
By Road
Businesses benefit from immediate access to Interstate 10, a major east-west transportation corridor. Other key east-west routes in Walton County include U.S. Highway 90, U.S. Highway 98 and State Route 20. Short connections to Interstate 65 or Interstate 75 make moving products north to the Midwest or east coast simple. U.S. Highway 331 is the primary north-south transportation artery within Walton County, allowing businesses to easily access Alabama and other points north.
By Air
Commercial air service options are plentiful for local companies. Airports in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola provide numerous flights to major cities in the Southeast and Midwest where international connections are available. The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport, scheduled to open near Panama City in May 2010, is the first airport to be constructed following September 11, 2001.
